Older woman thinking about writing

You've got stories brewing inside you.

Teaching you how to jump start your writing career isn’t about us. It’s about helping you help yourself, so you can become the successful author you’ve always dreamed of.

The world needs your words.

If you’re serious about publishing your books and not just talking about it, you’ve come to the right place. Author Revolution is all about helping you transform your writing journey into one you’ll be proud of. One that delivers on the promise you’ve made to yourself to get your words on the page.

But let’s be honest, writing can be hard at times. Rapid releasing your books and getting them published, even more so.

I know the idea of finally having your words out there might be a little daunting, or at the very least, make you feel a bit exposed or self-conscious. Then you get stuck, let writer’s block settle in, and start to flounder. Or maybe you’ve put words out there, but aren’t seeing the publishing results you’re looking for — and that can be truly discouraging. I get that and I’ve been there.

Together, we can make it happen.

The problem isn’t your desire or passion to write your stories. Somewhere deep inside you, you know what you were put on this Earth to do. Your dream is to birth the worlds and characters inside your head. Or write that memoir or nonfiction title no one else has ever written.

But you also know making it happen — writing and publishing — should be a lot easier. You should be able to get it done quicker.

I started Author Revolution because I believe the world needs your words. I believe every author who dreams big should be able to reach their publishing goals. Whether that’s to publish a book a year or 20 — the process of getting it done shouldn’t be overwhelming, daunting, or painstaking.

I know there’s a better way to publish your books and keep your author mindset focused, so you can grow your author platform and hit whatever writing goals you set for yourself. Learning this process should be simple, fun, productive — and above all else, something you can reproduce over and over again. I believe any writer who wants to be a successful, published author already has the tools they need to make it happen.

I'm passionate about mentoring authors.

Here’s the real problem with writers… No one was born knowing how to write and publish their books.

We just have an innate drive that tells us we have a story inside us wanting to get out. Sometimes it’s a dream, other times we already know what we want to write about, but are too scared to go there.

I remember the first time I realized I was a writer. I was thirteen years old and I awoke from one of the most vivid dreams I’d ever had in my short life. It was so real, even today I can see aspects of the dream in my mind and I wonder if it’s part of some cellular, genetic memory. But what’s most important, I awoke with a sense of not wanting to let the home I’d been inside fade away. I had to write about it. So at thirteen years old, every night I wrote for four or five weeks straight, trying to create a story I felt lived up to the dream’s essence. When I was done, I turned in my 45,000 word novel to my English teacher for her to read. While I’m sure the read was a bit painful for her (it was a young adult paranormal romance, I’ve come to learn), she read the entire thing and gave me solid feedback that resonated with me.

She made me feel good about writing.

And that’s what I want to be for you. I want you to know that no matter how “drafty” a first draft might be, or how hopeless you think a story arc might be pieced together, or even how hard it is to make your publishing goals once you put yourself out there — every single step is worth it. And I want to show you why.

Teaching is a part of me

As a young adult, I wasn’t sure what my calling was, but I knew it had something to do with publishing. I tested out just about every aspect you can think of. I’ve worked for bookstores, printers, and publishers. I’ve gotten a degree in graphic design. But the one thing that has always made me feel alive is when I’m helping others to master something the think they aren’t capable of.

When I was in my early twenties, I worked for a publisher in Duluth, MN called Advanstar Communications. It was as the time of the digital revolution, so they were just starting to consider what digital could do for their business. They wanted to trial out a new technology called computer-to-plate (aka digital). At the time, they handled all their print production via film.

I was a brand new production manager of three different magazines, but I knew I could take on the task of trialing this new digital thing. And you know what? I did! And when the company viewed it as a success, I taught every single one of my peers how to do it, too.

It was all a learning curve, don’t get me wrong. It was for me and it was for them. But learning has always been a joy for me, too. It’s fun and exciting to test what can be done and how technology can help us make our lives easier.

I promise, you don’t need to fear or avoid writing and publishing your books. Lean on my skills, knowledge, background — and even dork sense of humor to get you through this. I genuinely want you to succeed and my goal is to always make learning and growing as an author an incredibly fun experience.

Your success is my success.

Since 1995, I have been growing and expanding my knowledge base as an author, publisher, marketer, graphic designer, and coach.

I have been in your shoes and I totally get it. Each and every day you wake up facing new writing challenges. Hitting word count goals, creating outlines, staying on track, marketing your books, publishing them, and so much more. You don’t have the time or money to waste on a long trial and error process when most things won’t work.

Like you, I want to see you succeed. I want your books out in the world and I want you to feel the rush of writing “the end” or hitting publish on Amazon. I’ve helped authors just like you get the results they’re looking for — whether it be writing, story arc, publishing, or book marketing guidance. More than that, I continue to write and publish my own books, striving to hit new goals I set for myself as an author. Which, in turn, helps me to help you better. I know what works and what doesn’t.

Writing and publishing wasn’t always easy for me, which is why I want to make it easy for you. The absolute best part of my job is when I see the light bulb go off in a client’s eyes as things “click” into place. Those moments when I know they’ve heard the messages they needed to hear and know how to take action are the absolute best! And I can’t wait to see that with you.
